NEWS! Celebrating Two Years of Social Values Achievement: GR Recruitment and GR Consulting’s Incredible Impact
We’ve got something to shout about! Following our final submission to the Social Value Portal and their recent audit of our consultancy work, the results are now in on our total contribution to supporting local initiatives as GR Recruitment and GR Consulting over the past two years…
We’ve been buzzing with excitement as we’ve looked back on the incredible journey we’ve embarked on from 2022 to 2023, submitting tracking data and empirical evidence, but we’re delighted to announce we’ve delivered an outstanding £546,130 in social value over this period.
Yes, that’s right! Over half a million in time, resources and support giving back to our town. And let us tell you, it’s been an incredible journey fuelled by passion, dedication, and a whole lot of heart!
Now, in case you’re wondering, “What exactly is social value, and how did we manage to achieve such an impressive figure?” Well, let us break it down for you. Social value encompasses the positive impact that organisations like ours can have on the community, ranging from supporting local charities to empowering individuals to achieve their full potential.
Our social values journey began when we successfully won the tender to deliver the Stockport Jobs Match programme on behalf of Stockport Council in December 2021. This initiative aimed to connect jobseekers with local employers through a job board platform and digital careers hub, providing invaluable support to various stakeholders, including schools, colleges, voluntary organisations, and employment partners. As part of our tender submission via STAR Procurement, we pledged to deliver £109,705 in social value to support the local community.
But we didn’t stop there! Over the two-year contract term, we went above and beyond the delivery of an online web-based resource to exceed expectations and truly make a difference. Through a range of online and in-person initiatives, we provided one-on-one coaching to unemployed jobseekers, delivered inspiring careers talks at local secondary schools, mentored young people not in education, employment, or training (NEET), and offered consultancy sessions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling to recruit. We even rolled up our sleeves and volunteered with local charities, lending a helping hand wherever it was needed most.
Our dedication to supporting Stockport’s young people and improving outcomes didn’t go unnoticed. We spent countless hours engaging with schools, from mock-interview days to webinars on apprenticeships for parents, destination evenings for school leavers, and CV workshops for college students. We also extended our support to disadvantaged jobseekers, providing assistance to individuals from all walks of life, including Hong Kongers, Ukrainian refugees, and those experiencing homelessness.
And let’s not forget about our incredible team, who dedicated a whopping 160 hours of volunteering with community projects during work hours and their leisure time. Their commitment to giving back truly embodies the spirit of social values and company ethics.
As a small team, we’ve proven that when it comes to making an impact, size doesn’t matter. Whether you have five minutes to spare or a whole week, every contribution counts. So, if you’re passionate about making a difference and want to get involved, reach out to us! We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who share our values and want to join us on this incredible journey, with regular requests from schools and employment support partners to lend a hand.
Here’s to many more years of making a positive impact, supporting Stockport businesses and raising aspirations for our young people!
